Clown Triggerfish
Scientific name: Balistoides conspicillum
The Clown Triggerfish are a very unusually coloured fish, and as the name suggests, is painted up like a Clown!
Very definite markings around the belly with large white spots and a white mask over the eyes and a black upper body with mosaic effect on it's back. Topped off with bright yellow lips!
The Clown Trigger is a very timid type of triggerfish, it is been very hard to photograph, however the two that we have resident at South Solitary island have slowly got used to divers and allow you to get close for that "Great Shot"
Maybe one day we will take it!
