Moray Eel
Common name: Abbott's Moray
Scientific name: Gymnothorax eurostus
The Abbott's Moray Eel is quite common at the Solitary Islands. It would be unusual if you dived the islands and didn't see a moray eel.
They are very timid and will usually just have their head out of their hiding spot. The Abbott's moray usually is a smaller eel than the Green moray.

Common name: Green Moray
Scientific name: Gymnothorax prasinus
The Green Moray is a common variety at the Solitary Islands. They are usually only small in size, however we have seen some with total length of 1200mm! Whilst they are called the Green Moray, they are quite often, light brown in appearance.
