Learn to SCUBA Dive, the Open Water Scuba Diver Course is your entry certificate to Underwater Adventure!
Jetty Dive's PADI Open Water Dive Course enables you to enjoy the diving environment as a highly trained and safe diver, and gives you the opportunity to enjoy hassle-free diving.
Our methods train you in equipment and techniques suitable for both cold and tropical diving (our water temperatures are a relaxing sub-tropical 18-26c!)

What is in the Open Water Scuba Diver Course?

The O/W course is made up of 3 parts

Part 1 - Theory. In the Class, at Home or Online with E-Learning
We understand you have a busy lifestyle and your leisure time is important to you.
You can complete the theory (which is real interesting!) in our class on Day 1, or study at home with a DVD and the course Manual, or the latest method, Online with PADI E-learning.

Part 2 - Skills pool training sessions
We start our in-water sessions in the easy comfortable environment of a pool! Our performance-based training will ensure you'll master all the necessary water skills before you undertake the Ocean Dive component of your course.
We want you to feel comfortable and enjoy your diving experience so you'll come to love diving as we do!
Part 3 - The Open Water Dives.. The fun parts!
You will come aboard our Big Boats and in small groups, we take you to the best sites of the Solitary Islands Marine Park.
With our certified PADI Instructors and Divemasters, you will do Four Scuba dives.
There is some skills practice, but the dives are mostly spent Scuba Diving with some fantastic marine life!
All our dives are boat dives, an easy, great way to start your diving experience! Our Dive Boats are Big and Comfortable. What we offer here, is the difference between our course and others! 		Start learning scuba today!




How long does it take?

The Schedule is made to suit you!
The Open Water Diver course is run over 4 days and only 3 days if you complete the theory at home or PADI E-learning.
It can be consecutive days, or part-time (we do a lot of weekend courses!).
At the end you will be certified to dive to 18m with a buddy, anywhere in the world, and with the training we give you, you will have the skill to dive cold or warm water.

The reward is a PADI 5 STAR gold card recognised world-wide.

If you want to continue your training from here, it's time to go on to the PADI Advanced Open Water Course where you will be given an introduction to navigation, deep and other types of diving.

Textbooks.. the PADI Manual... is it required?

PADI standards require full access to the course information, during and after the course. The E-learning theory does not require books (as access online to theory is available). All other times, it is recommended that you have one. If you already have one, you save!

    Can we teach cheaper Backpacker courses?

    Yes we can offer backpacker courses with trips on our smaller RIB boat, and dives to closer locations.
    These locations don't offer our best dives, however, they are fantastic compared to Sydney, NSW and Bundaberg, QLD where they only include shore dives in their cheap courses!
    Don't forget, our normal courses enjoy the comfort and quality of our big boats and best diving, and offer great value for money too!
    Minimum group sizes are required for the price to be cheaper.

    Prerequisites

    The ability to swim 200 metres or snorkel 300 metres (with mask, snorkel and fins), and stay afloat for 10 minutes is required
    Prior to completing an Open Water Dive Course in Australia you are required to obtain an approved Scuba Diving Medical Certificate (AS 4005.1).
    You can download a copy of AS4005.1 Medical Form here.
    These medicals are available from a wide number of selected practitioners. Locally in Coffs Harbour we can assist with arranging a medical.




    Booking Conditions... the fine print!

  • Dive Courses. Bookings require a $50.00 deposit per student, which is fully refundable if student fails the medical requirements. If the Student decides not to continue at any stage of the course, once started, no refund will be given. However if the student is not reducing the numbers in the course to the extent that it is not viable, there may be part refund available.
    No refunds of deposits will be given if the customer cancels within 48 hours of the course start date and reduces the viability of the course.
    If the student fails to attend part of the course without sufficient prior arrangement, the cost of providing that part of the course is required to be paid as an extra cost by the student.
