Palau..Micronesia overseas Dive trip Report
2nd to 9th May 2011!
Palau.. world class walls
Sharks at Blue Corner..Manta's at German channel... Jellyfish lake... 
Mike and Deb lead this very enjoyable trip again.
Palau in Micronesia is a world class dive destination, famous for the "Rock islands" and divesites like the "Blue Corner", Palau is certainly a destination to visit.
We would have to say the diving was very nice in Palau, and on this trip we had great dives at the "Blue Corner", only a couple of us saw manta's at German Channel, but all in all, the location lived up to the reputation.
Palau had very diverse range of diving,
Wild currents bring in the pelagic and Shark action on the "Blue Corner", we hooked on and watched all the action cruise past! This is where they developed the "Reef hook", designed to allow you to stay in one location with current. That's right, you don't move because all of the action passes by.
Then at the other end of the scale is the macro life of Sam's Tours wall with it's Mandarin Fish, a small and timid Goby with brilliant colours. Then there is Jellyfish lake with millions of sting-less Jellyfish. This lake is salt water, and on the inside of one of the Rock islands and in time the Jellyfish have evovled to survive on sunlight. It is surreal to snorkel amoungst virtually hundreds of these animals.
To top off the experience, Palau has World War II wrecks like Truk Lagoon. Whilst Palau doesn't have the name for wreck diving, it does have lots of wrecks, with all sorts of amazing animals and topography.
With a stopover at Guam, we stayed at "Sea Passion Resort"
and diving with Sam's Tours, using Free Nitrox! and diving 2 dives per day out on the amazing reefs and walls of Palau, with an option to dive a WW11 Wreck or close reef for dive 3 of the day! With free nitrox, you can easily do three dives a day in comfort.
