Visibility Report
Visibility at South Solitary Island was 10-12m from Cleaner Station down to South Boulder Wall.
Water Temperature
Water temp at South Solitary Island is 18 - 19C, a little warmer near the surface.
Sea Conditions
An 5-8kn SW tickle with 1 1/2m swells. A little lumpy on the trip home.
What we saw out there today!

First up was North Boulder Wall up to Cleaner Station and back, lots of Grey Nurse Sharks in the shallows, nine in total. There must be a Turtle convention as we saw six on the first dive, fantastic! An octopus, the Lined Bubble Shell and Rose Petal Shell are still there, a Spanish Dancer, not dancing today and a couple of very large Wobbygongs. There are lots and lots of Blue Groupers, some of them pretty big and having a bit of a clean from the Wrasse.
Second dive was spent on North and South Boulder Wall, again, more Grey Nurse Sharks, a wee Bullray, lots of Nudibranchs and more Turtles and a big Black Cod amongst a big school of Pomfreds. Whale song was quite clear on both dives and we saw a few on the trip to and from the Island.

Sea Conditions
An 8-13kn NE breeze with 1/2m swells. Nice, flat seas.
What we saw out there today!

First up was Shark Gutters and Cleaner Station with about twelve Grey Nurse and quite a few Wobbygongs. A huge,big,massive Loggerhead. We thought Barney was pretty big, not compared to the giant we saw today. Two Cuttlefish, lots of Kingfish, Moray Eels and a four big Bullrays. A large Spanish Dancer and two Lined Bubble Shells and a Rose Petal Bubble Shell. A great first dive to the day.
Second dive was a drift from Shark Gutters down to The Gantry, eight Grey Nurse sighted, only one of which was male. Our first Clown Trigger Fish since the big storms earlier this year. Barney, the not so big Loggerhead and two Green Turtles. Lots of Nudibranchs, one of which was a Siboga Cuthona, look it up! One Eagle Ray and a big Green Turtle finished off the day.

An 5-10kn NE breeze with 1/2m swells.
What we saw out there today!

Shark Gutters was the first dive of the day, with seven Grey Nurse spotted between Gutters and Cleaner Station. Lots of big Blue Groupers and the big Parrotfish is still hanging out at Cleaner Station. Barney the big Loggerhead was inquisitive among the student divers and they all got a good look. Two Blue Angelfish and a little Green Turtle.
Second dive was a one way dive from Shark Gutters around to The Gantry, more Turtles and lots of Old Wives at The Gantry. Saw a couple of Wobbygongs swimming around and a few Blue Tangs. Whale song was quite loud today and there were a few spotted on the trip to and from South Solitary.
Visibility Report
Visibility at South Solitary Island was around 5m today at the deeper end of Shark Gutters, but as you got close into the Island there were patches of 8m milky blue water 10m in the gap.

An 8-10kn SE breeze with 1/2m swells. Fantastic surface conditions.
What we saw out there today!

Shark Gutters was first up today with Grey Nurse all around at close quarters. Lots of Kingfish, Snapper and a big school of Tarwhine. A couple of Batfish and Black Cod, also saw some very big Blue Groupers. Wobbygongs galore, big and small, one of them the size of a truck in Cleaner Station. A small Cuttlefish and a pretty big parrotfish. A good dive.
Second dive was a an adventure dive. The divers did the Rollercoaster, but in reverse and saw twelve Grey Nurse in the gutter, then they shot the Gap and saw two green turtles and a Grey Nurse in the Gap. Lots of Happy Moments and a few Moray Eels out and about.
Lots of Dolphins leaping out of the water today and a few Whales breaching in the distance.
No dive report yesterday as it was International Clean Up Day, our volunteer divers and beach walkers collected a massive 180kg of debris. Well done and thankyou to all who participated and sponsored the event.

What we saw out there today!

Two dives at Split Solitary today, a great dive for corals. Lots of Pomfreds and there are so many small Wobbygongs, literally everywhere you look. Always lots of Egg Cowries at Split and quite a few Nudibranchs spotted today. Even saw a cute little Shovelnose Ray.
We have not been seeing many Whales recently, but there were a couple out today putting on a show, lots of breaching and fin slapping, again, more Dolphins at the harbour entrance.
