Visibility Report

The Visibility at South Solitary was 15m at the worse and out to 20 mtrs on the Northern side today, the water was looking blue with a bit , but not much current. The swell from the last few days had all but gone.
Water Temperature
Water temp was really quite nice! Around 22c and up to 24c at South Solitary today.
Sea Conditions
A slight but annoying NW 10kn breeze made it too choppy for snorkelling on the northern side of South Solitary Island. Divers went in on the choppy waters, with a bit more of current heading south..ending up on the calmer western side. Snorkelling was nice.
What we saw out there today!
A bit light on for reports underwater today other than at least 4 turtles and 5-6 Grey Nurse sharks around the top end of South Solitary. Lots of Schooling Tarwhine with great vis to show of the mountains of Bullseyes and Pomfreds. Might have to get out there and Dive myself and do a good report.
Further sightings of the "Lucky if you ever see one" Ornate Ghost-pipefish at Split Solitary Island, along with the rare Eastern Blue Devilfish

What we saw out there today!
Dive one was down the bottom end of South Solitary Island at Cable trail. Unusual sightings of 3 Grey Nurse Sharks at the wrong end of the island and, time of the year for them too! Also a few Turtles and Lots of schooling fish on the southern point. Big Snapper in the shallows. Dive Two was up to the Gantry with a large range of critters, including a few new Nudibranchs. Tarwhine and Sweep, and Pomfreds and Bullseyes with Turtles, made all the divers happy. Another pic from Julz
